During the  Bangladesh Liberation War , the Bangladesh-India border was opened to allow Bengalis fleeing genocide by the  Pakistan Army's   SSG  units safe shelter in India. The state governments of India, such as  West Bengal ,  Assam ,  Meghalaya  and  Tripura  established refugee camps along the border. As the massacres in  Bangladesh  escalated an estimated 10 million refugees fled to  India  causing financial hardship and instability in Bangladesh due to  1971 Bangladesh genocides  and as well as regional conflicts in the north-eastern states.

Ahsan Manzil (Bengali: আহসান মঞ্জিল, Ahsan Monjil) was the official residential palace and seat of the Dhaka Nawab Family.  This magnificent building is situated at Kumartoli along the banks of the Buriganga River in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The construction of this palace was started in the year 1859 and was completed in 1869. It is constructed in the Indo-Saracenic Revival architecture.  To preserve the cultural and history of the area, the palace became the Bangladesh National Museum on 20 September 1992. আহসান মঞ্জিল   পুরনো ঢাকার  ইসলামপুরে  বুড়িগঙ্গা নদী র তীরে অবস্থিত। এটি পূর্বে ছিল ঢাকার নবাবদের প্রাসাদ। বর্তমানে এটি জাদুঘর হিসাবে ব্যবহৃত হচ্ছে। এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা  নওয়াব আবদুল গনি । তিনি তার পুত্র  খাজা আহসানুল্লাহ -র নামানুসারে এর নামকরণ করেন। এর নির্মাণকাল ১৮৫৯-১৮৭২ সাল। ১৯০৬ সালে এখানে এক অনুষ্ঠিত বৈঠকে  মুসলিম লীগ  প্রতিষ্ঠার সিদ্ধান্ত হয়। প্রতিষ্ঠাতাকাল ১৮৭২। আহসান মঞ্জিল কয়েকবার সংস্কার করা হয়েছে। সর্বশেষ সংস্কার করা হয়েছে অতি সম্প...
